Types of Bread

Among the oldest types of food prepared, bread ranks on the first position. As a matter of fact, making of bread has been practiced since the Neolithic age. No doubt it underwent a lot of change, since those times. Different procedures were introduced to make breads in different parts of the world. Bread is made with different types of flours. The dough can either be baked, steamed, fried or baked on a skillet. Different types of mold are used to shape up the bread. It can either be leavened or unleavened. Along with flour and water, salt, fat and/or leavening agents, like yeast, baking soda are the ingredients used to make basic type of bread. Other than these ingredients, a number of other ingredients are also used. This type of bread is also very popular all over the world. Different flours are used to make this bread. The name of this bread describes the bread well. It has a slight sour flavor. The texture of this bread is dense as compared to the other varieties of bread. Flour and water are fermented before the bread is made. To make leavened breads, a type of acid is added to the dough.Ezekiel Bread
To make Ezekiel bread, no flour is added to the dough. Normally sprouted grains are used. Seeds, beans can also be added to the recipe. Uncooked grains and beans are added, therefore, it is important that the grains are totally sprouted, before they are used to make the bread.
